However, the title was scrapped completely in 2003. The game would've had multiple endings depending on player actions and was intended to have three playable races. It was planned to take place in 2253 in the American southwest, specifically the states of Arizona, Utah, Nevada, and Colorado. "Van Buren" was the internal code name for Black Isle's second attempt at creating Fallout 3. The mod is for PC and has several prerequisite mods necessary for running. A fan-made mod for Fallout: New Vegasallows players to experience the canceled Fallout 2 sequel "Van Buren." The mod is advertised as being as faithful to the original Van Buren as possible.
